This 1970s Abodia 5000 + 35mm slide/ transparency / negatives cabinet is a must-have for any photography studio, photographic slide studio, cardiology or biological laboratory or as a decorative centerpiece in any home. Crafted from beautiful walnut wood with a steel frame, this custom 5000 series cabinet holds thousands of slides and features a viewing area, light box and enlarger for easy access/ editing. Mimicking Dieter Rams' industrial design and manufactured in Germany make it a true collector's item; the Smithsonian Institute keeps one on display! Included with the cabinet are the original sales brochure, product booklet, invoice, and order form from 1976. This piece is not only functional but also a true work of art, with its sleek lines and timeless design. " Acquired from a Louisville KY ENT and photography enthusiast's estate, this cabinet measures appx 51"t x 21'd x 69"w and weighs over 200lbs. It was in perfect working condition before it was placed in our climate controlled warehouse and hasn't been tested since. Abodia cabinets were custom made for the buyer. The top cabinet has a sliding door on each side with a backlit center wall for slide viewing. There are multiple sliding racks on each side that can hold thousands of slides. The base cabinet includes two slide out light tables, one with enlargement capabllities, and utility drawers. The lights are made to turn on automatically when they are opened. In other fun facts, Abodia was distributed in the US by Elden Enterprises out of West Virginia, and owned by Henry Elden's son Ted Elden. Henry was the famous architect who built the round glass cliff side studio named "Top O Rock".
