Specifically engineered mounting head kit provides an extremely sturdy mount without the use or installation of a secondary stand off metal bracket inside of the car body. This important design feature allows installation on many of these cars which have limited underside access and it greatly simplifies installation on all cars. In fact, most of the time this well designed model can be installed from outside the car! Stainless steel 31 inch (when fully extended) mast provides long life and maximum reception. Mounts from the outside through either of the common 7/8" or 1" diameter antenna car body holes originally installed by manufacturers or it can be mounted from the inside out through an antenna hole as small as 3/4". Large exterior 1 1/2" antenna hole finishing gasket cover which is probably big enough to hide any old outline that your previous antenna may have left on your car finish. No need to cut out an antenna hole if you use a car cover. When fully retracted the antenna is completely out of the way while cleaning or servicing your car. When fully retracted the antenna cannot be extended without the key to help prevent vandalism. Requires only 10 1/2 inches of under body depth. Since several different mounting positions were used on the various models and some were relocated by previous owners and shops please check to ensure that you have at least 10 1/2" of clearance for the tube below the antenna hole. Includes 48" of cable with a male radio end plug. On rear fender mount antenna locations, please check to see if 48" of cable will either reach the back of your radio or an existing antenna cable connector.
