For sale we have a fossil jaw section from an oreodont, Merycoidodon culbertsoni. This specimen was personally collected from my ranch in Nebraska. Oreodonts where herding animals whose closest living relative would be a camel. This relation is extremely distant so they looked nothing like a camel and instead more like a sheep. They lived during the mid Eocene through the mid Miocene and are quite abundant in the fossil record. These specimens were collected from the Chadron and Brule formations of the white river group, making them Eocene to Oligocene in age. This jaw would be a perfect addition to a fossil collection. It is a piece of natural history that tells the story of the ancient world and the creatures that once roamed the earth. Don't miss your chance to own this impressive fossil. Quarter for Scale, There are two complete teeth and a partial in this jaw. Item number #ORE13 Shipping I do combine shipping where possible.
