Check the listing for details. George III ARGYLE OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE Circa 1770 Georgian. Listed at 225.00 USD. Here is a fine antique C 1770 George Ill Old Sheffield Plate Argyle Gravy Jug. This is an early example, with cylindrical body and slightly domed lid with silver balls finial. The sides and base have an exterior “jacket” for hot water insulation, the water-filling spout has a hinged lid, and a plain strap handle. The body of the piece is engraved with a script monogram “KML” and it has a makers mark on the bottom. The piece measures approximately 5” tall, 5” from spout to spout, and 5” handle to front. It is in overall very good condition. I believe that the interior was re-plated, as it is bright, shiny and largely intact. The piece has some minor dings that are visible upon close inspection, but this does little to diminish the beauty of this piece.
