Check the listing for details. Haida Argillite Canoe Carving W/ Three Figures - Patina Possibly Early 1900s. Condition: Used, Made in Canada. Listed at 639.20 USD. This is a beautiful Haida Argillite carving with obvious wear and age. It's 9" long (228mm) and 16.5 ounces (468 grams.) Cold to the touch, dense, and wonderfully hand-made. I am not an expert in this field, but the style, particularly of the faces and hair, look like some of Greg White Lightbown's work. That said, with the wear and patina, I'd say it's older. Possibly from an artist who inspired him?;I'm not sure. I've compared it to others attributed to him and it looks very close. Expert authentication would be required to verify this. This will ship insured for full value of the piece.
