This very old and authentic Woodland Culture Full Groved large granite Ax is rare. This collectible piece is from the very old Payne collection and sold in the 1935 Auction. It was found in the early 1930s . Rarely seen from the Woodland Culture and from 600-900 A.D. This hardstone granite example has a nick in the hammer and the bit was seen a lot of use. Found in a farmer’s field in Cass County, Illinois and has a few plow scars. Thanks for checking out this axe head , please see my other listings.
