Cut shorter to simply place rope inside and loop over your saddle horn, no need to wrap around rope, like the longer standard version. Easy to attach to the saddle no screws or hardware needed. To attach the strap to the saddle, run the strap through the opening or slot between the pommel and the front of the seat and then loop it through the small slit around the pommel and pull tight.
