This solar bicycle lantern was manufactured by the Badger Brass Manufacturing Company around 1896-1900. These lanterns were made to provide light for cyclists during night time riding before electric lighting. They used kerosene or carbide gas as fuel to provide a bright flame behind the glass lens. Known for their craftsmanship and historical significance. Made in Kenosha, Wisconsin . Stamped on top, back and bottom. On the bottom a few small dents. A small dent on edge of top rim around glass and small crack on glass. Many photos so check all . A definite collectors item for cycling memorabilia and transportation history. Measures 7x 3 x 5
