Check the listing for details. Northwest Coast, Kwakwaka'wakw (Secret Society) Ceremonial Stick.. Listed at 615.00 USD. This is a rare Northwest Coast Kwakwaka'wakw ceremonial stick or club. This was most likely manufactured for a secret society in the late 19th to early 20thc. period (1890s - 1930s). It is unsigned. The wood is Yellow cedar or Maple. The club has a stylized ancestor's face which represents Dzunukwa. It has pursed lips and round eyes. The unusual handle of this club it notched or "ringed" to help keep it in the secret society dancer's grip. This intriguing and rare ceremonial object would've been employed in secret society dances. It's a fascinating and old NWC Kwakwaka'wakw artifact!!! The aged wood exhibits much patina on the handle and elsewhere on the body/head. *****This is a genuine and historic Northwest Coast tribal artifact. I have sold countless museum quality Northwest Coast pieces in the last few years -- buy with confidence!!! Measurements: 13.5 inches in length; 2 inches wide (head).
