This is one of the oldest FDNY Certificates on the market. Reads: to certify the David Stillwagon is pursuant to law nominated and appointed on of the FIREMEN of the City of NEW YORK by the Common Council May 17th 1813 - signed by J. Morton The document template was engraved by Peter Maverick from a drawing by Archibald Robertson, March 1807 Heavy weight paper. Does have water damage and a few small holes - but still a wonderful piece of history to display.
