X25a #1.5 This is an absolutely beautiful display of a Male Singing Spice Finch Bird taxidermy. He is singing his courtship song with his neck stretched as part of his courtship performance! . He is showcased in a glass dome with wood bottom and is surrounded by all natural and preserved items with include fern, a lady bug, snail, flowers, fern, pods, lichen, wood and more! This display is approx. 8 x 5 1/2" and would be a wonderful addition to any collection or a great gift! species and fun facts- Lonchura punctulataThe scaly-breasted munia or spotted munia, known in the pet trade as nutmeg mannikin or spice finch, is a sparrow-sized estrildid finch native to tropical Asia. A species of the genus Lonchura, it was formally described and named by Carl Linnaeus in 1758. The sexes are identical with the Spice finch. The male will sing a nearly inaudible song, and stretch his neck and turn from side to side a bit when performing his courtship song. NOTE: If your item is in a glass dome please be aware that the domes are NOT permanently connected to the base. Care has to be taken when opening or removing the dome so not to damage the display or specimen.
