I’m always fascinated by the many things the Vietnam War USGIs brought with them into combat on their helmet. This is one of the most interesting things I’ve documented. There’s a Vietnam war documentary documenting time with a squad over a few days during the late 1960s. One of the GIs was filmed attempting to put a similar puzzle together. Later he’s seen carrying the Elephant on his helmet under his camo band. I’ve posted a few screenshots (not included) of the elephant on the helmet. Unique item to display with your M1.
