I was told this is a block of AZ31 magnesium alloy. Odd shape is a maximum of 5" wide. Largest possible square block is 3.5"×3.5"×.7" due to the .45" wide x .55" deep center divot hole. If you've got a small project or two and you need a light but strong alloy this is a much cheaper way to go than buying a full new 12"x12" block. See my other listings as well.
