The shape is like a sea shell. It is white with gold colored speckle trim along the edge. It is SMALL. Measurements are approximately 3 1/4 inches by 2 1/2 inches by 1 inch deep. This is a very nice piece that came from my mother's estate. I could not feel or see any chips or cracks. There is one very small bump that is visible (if you look closely) on the inside on one of the grooves that I would assume would be a natural part of the manufacturing process.
