They are reversible front to back, depending on which serrations you are cutting. The blocks in the forward position offers alignment for vertical serration cuts, backwards to allow for free-hand horizontal cuts). As mentioned, these also serve great as simple vice blocks for your everyday 1911 gunsmith work. These come with 2 zip ties for front strap checkering work.
