This 1913 -D Nickel is the scarcer "Type 2" variety, featuring the redesign flat ground line under the Bison. This design was introduced mid-year to prevent the "Five Cents" inscription from wearing away quickly in circulation. The coin shows honest wear consistent with but both the 1913 date and D (Denver) Mint Mark remain clearly visible. Please look closely at the photos.
