Check the listing for details. 1938 Concert Program SIGNED BY EZIO PINZA, OPERA SINGER. Listed at 40.00 USD. I have come across a collection of items signed by classical musicians - concert programs, actors - playbills, and politicians - letters and ephemera. These items were collected from the 1930s to the 1960s. None of the signed items have been authenticated, but all are consistent with other examples of the autographs easily found online. I will be posting them individually over time. This listing is for a concert program signed by EZIO PINZA, famed classical pianist. The program is for a performance by the Pianist sponsored by the Civic Music Association. The 4 page program (including front and rear covers) does not identify the date or the location of the concert, but a website for the Civic Music Association of Des Moines, IA, provides a list of highlighted performers from its inception in 1925 to the current time, and Ezio Pinza was identified for performing by this sponsorship in 1939-1940. In fact, the previous owner inked the date Dec 1, 1938 on the back page of the program. It may be that the 1939/40 concert season began in late 1938, or that Ezio Pinza performed additionally during the 1939/40 season. Also, I have other signed programs from this association, and the individuals who headlined and signed the program are also identified on that page. The program is in VERY GOOD CONDITION, clean and with no other marks, tears, or creases. On Ezio Pinza from Wikipedia: "Ezio Fortunato Pinza (May 18, 1892 – May 9, 1957) was an Italian opera singer. Pinza possessed a rich, smooth and sonorous voice, with a flexibility unusual for a bass. He spent 22 seasons at New York's Metropolitan Opera, appearing in more than 750 performances of 50 operas. At the San Francisco Opera, Pinza sang 26 roles during 20 seasons from 1927 to 1948. Pinza also sang to great acclaim at La Scala, Milan and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London."
