Rand & Leopold Desk Company was an office furniture manufacturing firm which operated out of Burlington, Iowa, for 102 years before closing in 1990. Both pull out writing tablets are signed "Leopold of Burlington, Iowa." Superior quality, this sleek desk was crafted of walnut with matching grain. The top appears to be walnut veneer but the entire desk is solid wood. Minimal wear and tear given it's age. One of the legs has a bit of wear, and the back of the desk has light scratches which would require minimal effort to repair. I'm leaving it as is, because I know how touchy people can be about restoration. Truly a classic piece of furniture. Hard to date exactly, but looking at the metal logo, style of desk and other comparable models online I would estimate it was built in the mid-60s (despite it's nearly pristine condition) CONDITION: I've tried to photograph the wear and tear. But this desk is in near perfect condition considering it's age. Some light scratches on the drawers and legs. However, most of these are so light they didn't even photograph. The most significant scratch is on the middle on the back and on of the legs. I've photographed both. Appear to have all it's dividers for the drawers. All the drawers work perfectly. It's truly in fantastic shape!
