Adjustable. No tears in the black vinyl seat. The logo sticker is marked as from the Slingerland Niles, Illinois factory. Slingerland was in Niles from about 1962 to 1986. From it's looks, and the logo font, I'm reasonably guessing it's from the 1970s or ealry 1980s. It's in fine shape all the way around: cosmetically, structurally, and functionally.
