(2) Spice Boxes Middle Eastern Rosewood Painted Lacquered Spice Box Lovely decorative pieces for decor or for the original purpose of holding spices. These are Hand Painted and Lacquered Vintage Rosewood Spice Boxes from the Middle East. They are rounded in shape with a domed lid and finial. Lovely colorations of orange, red and black has decorative circles, swirls and feathers going around the entire box and lid as pictured. Spice boxes were considered very special and prized by their owner. Often times they were given as wedding gifts and handed down through generations. These spice boxes would be a wonderful addition to your home and decor. One measures about 7 inches and the other is about 6 inches in diameter. The spice box shows age, has some paint loss due to age and use, the lid to the 7 inch box is tight and may need a sanding to sit better on its bowl. The 6 inch sits nicely on its base.
