Check the listing for details. 2003 $2 shift Error note Uncirculated condition, I 05062414 A, Actually 3 errors. Listed at 110.61 USD. Here's a Friday @ 4:59 PM on a holiday weekend. It's about the only way these errors could have passed by quality control without being caught. Have you ever owned an error note before? Many haven't due to the cost. I am 74, failing in many areas especially my eyesight, and as no one in my family wants to continue my collection, it's time to share it with you folks out there. An error note is a must for every collection, and to have one elevates yours to the next level. Of course, you have to be careful, it's like eating chips and nuts. Bet you can't own just one. So... here's the news... 1) The main error is a 'shift error'. Somehow, the green (3rd printing) didn't go as planned and the serial numbers and the green seal has been shifted out of position [say; moving up]. The Green Seal should be positioned exactly and precisely in the dead center of the big word "TWO". As you can plainly see, it is not. It has been shifted up and to the left.2 The 2nd error is just similar to the 1st one. The Black inking of the seal on the right side of the note is also shifted up. (These are two separate and distinctly different printing errors) (Can't print two different colors at the same time). 3) Now here,we need to be benevolent to the buyer here, as the bad inking, wet ink and other 'smears' are, we shall allow, are all one error. Where to look:3a) Look at the lower right corner, you can see 'splatter or over-inking' in the margin very easily. Not supposed to be there. Usually caused buy one of two things, 1) either dirty rollers, or ink from the sheets above and - or below. You can look front and back and see quite a bit of this type of error. Buy itself, still makes it an error note. Now, some more items of valuation consideration.1) Uncirculated. 2) Well cut note. 3) 17 years old.4) Very low Backplate #, 5. We all like low numbers on currency. With backplate #'s being as high as four figures, this one ranks right at the top. Only 4 better, 1,2,3,4.5) Fairly low serial number starting with zero. Bottom line, this is a perfect beginner error note for the collector and collection with an unfilled slot. If you get this one graded, I bet you'll have a wider grin. This is really a great find. I hope you enjoyed looking, and if you want it, good luck in the bidding. SECRET: Bid LAST! But don't wait too close to the end, get your bid in early so you don't miss it. Pricing: Whitman's Encyclopedia of U S Paper Money rates errors from $20 - $50 on the low side. Bigger the error, bigger the value. I value these errors (of which there are three) on the average side so about $30 each, and I am counting only three errors so 3 X $30 = $90. Add in the actual value of the FV [face value] of $2 = $92.Now, I get $5 for me husbanding the note for many years, = $97. EBay and Pay Pal reap 13% = $12.61 = $109.61 correct so far? Now, shipping... figure only $3 - $4, = $110.61. (NOTE: Go find you an error note for that) Thanks for looking in.Capt. Brian
