This feature works for any IC which places its power pins (VCC and GND) in the corners, which is typical. The passive footprints are designed to work with sizes 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206. This feature is optional, but can be a boon for supply bypass close to the IC. To use this feature: Solder 0 Ω resistors (jumpers) to the footprints which are next to each pin which your IC uses for GND. This connects the adapter ground plane to IC GND. Solder capacitors to the footprints next to one or more supply pins in order to add local bypass capacitance for that pin.
