Check the listing for details. 4-pin mike socket for RCI-made radios with 6-pin mike socket. Condition: New. Listed at 24.99 USD. Here you see for sale a quirky little widget with a terribly narrow range of uses. This mike socket will fit the 4-pin microphone plug used by the overwhelming bulk of CB and "10-meter" (snicker) radio transceivers. Not exciting, but it bolts in place of the 6-pin socket used by base-station radios sold by RCI, Galaxy, Eagle and others. The 6-pin socket allows for mikes with "Up/Down" buttons to change frequency. All very nice, but you can't freely interchange mikes between radios. Yes, you can buy an adapter. The rigid metal-body adapters are about 3 inches long and create a significant leverage against the nut holding the mike socket in place. The result is a radio with a chronically-loose 6-pin mike socket. This gadget was developed as a response to this problem. Changing the mike socket eliminates the adapter, and the "loose" problem with it. Yes, you have to remove all the knobs and the radio's face plate for access to the mike socket mounting bracket. This is a "PLUG AND PRAY" accessory. NO SOLDERING IRON NEEDED. The factory-original mike socket plugs into the radio's wiring harness. You won't be using the 3-position plug with the black and brown wire on it. That plug is for the Up/Down feature we won't have any more. This leaves the shielded audio wire. It goes to the 2-pin side of the new socket, with the black wire closest to the black ferrite bead. The socket with the single brown wire will go to the single pin at the other side of the new socket. The tricky part is to find a proper tool for the round nut that holds the factory socket in place. You're on your own there, I don't sell that tool. This adapter has RF filtering on all three of the socket pins that are used for this kind of radio. One for audio, one for ground and one for transmit. The filtering is a bit more than the factory used. We have used this adapter for older 23-channel radios that had "squeal" problems. Bear in mind that kind of symptom is like "my car won't start". More than one fault can cause that symptom. And if your 23-channel CB still has a feedback squeal on the transmit audio after this thing gets installed on it, remember I warned you it may not work. Pin 1 is ground, pin 2 is audio, pin 3 is transmit. The close-up pictures that show ONLY the adapter are correct and up-to-date. The pictures showing how to install it are older and show a slightly-different layout of the parts. Yeah, that version was a little too wide. Didn't quite fit. This one DOES. There are NO RETURNS AT ALL FOR ANY REASON OF ANY KIND!No matter how good they sound. We ship no later than the second business day following receipt of cleared payment. I prefer USPS Priority Mail. It's been VERY reliable and comes with tracking. I will insure it for the final sale price. IF YOU PREFER A DIFFERENT **USA ONLY** SHIPPING METHOD, CONTACT ME **BEFORE** YOU PAY! I will prepare a quote for the method you specify and send you an invoice for the corrected amount. This option is available to USA destinations ONLY! !!!! NOTE !!!!Shipping to destinations outside the US are by the Ebay GSP or Global Shipping Program. How much that will cost you is anybody's guess. Ask Ebay if you want to know. Maybe they'll tell you. They won't tell me. Maybe they should rename the "GSP" the "Global Secret Program". GSP ONLY!! GSP ONLY!! GSP ONLY!! No, I will NOT ship direct if you are outside the USA and its colonies. GSP ONLY!! GSP ONLY!! GSP ONLY!! If you know what it is and what it's for, you can decide if you want or need it. And if you don't know what it is, you probably don't need it. Trust me on this.
