I can tell you the one part that seems to always seems to fail after many years of use on a Vitamix is the variable speed switch on the TOTAL NUTRITION CENTER, 5000,5200 and Vita-prep series models. If you have it fixed by Vitamix it will set you back $100 and you have to ship the machine back and forth to OHIO.
