The Aeronca CHAMPION TRI-TRAVELER was a Champ with a tricycle landing gear. This is a 32" span scale PLAN + construction article for building a 1/2A-powered scale free flight model that would be great for RC conversion and electric power. Dan Lutz, the designer, says that the tail assembly is built to scale (not oversized as usually is the case in free flight scale models) and the dihedral in the wings is also scale. Even so, he says, the model performs beautifully. It had over 200 flights at the time of publication. The plan has hinge lines designed in for the rudder and the elevator.
