Description: AluShield® is a convenient, water-resistant aerosol bandage that creates a protective barrier against external irritant agents in wounds in small and large animals. AluShield contains a proprietary carrier that causes the active wound-protective formula to adhere to the skin. It will not wash off with hot or cold water, however, it can be removed with soapy water to inspect the wound. It is recommended to reapply AluShield every three days to insure that an optimal bacterial barrier is maintained. AluShield allows the wound to oxygenate (breathe) to aid wound healing. It may also be applied over ointment or salves used to aid in wound healing. AluShield may be used in wounds in which protection against bacterial contamination is needed. It does not contain sulfa or antibiotics, which is a concern in food producing animals intended for food. Supplied as a 75 gram aerosol spray can.
