Ancient Sumero-Akaddian hand carved agate stone cylinder seal lot. It has a bordered block of script of the type that was used circa after 2350 BC and depicts a person being led to the enthroned king or deity. Also depicted is the bull representing the age of Taurus constellation, dating in the period of between 4300-2150 BC. This seal was likely made closer to the period of 2350-2150 BC. Also depicted is the Polar configuration which appeared in the Northern sky as a superimposition of the planets Saturn, Venus and Mars forming a cross in circle above a crescent during this time period with later evolution resembling an eight-pointed star superimposed onto a circle. The later configuration is found on seals made after 1800-1500 BC. There is a large ancient chip at bottom beveled edge just below the bull and a small chip further along the same edge. ~ 2-1/4" L(36 mm) x 3/4" (19 mm) diameter. (1" = 25.4 mm).
