An ancient Islamic Iron Key.I've had experts examine it and from the arabesques and geometric style they believe it's from the Sassanid period. It's approx.12-1/2 cm long and c. 4-1/2 cm at the heart shaped pivoting end. It weighs c.107g.It has a lovely patina commensurate with age. it was inherited in 1988. It's a beautiful example of the geometries of that period's art.
