Check the listing for details. Antique Copper Blow Torch Patented 1893. Condition: Used. Listed at 219.00 USD. Copper spout, brass base, black lacquered wooden handle. This touch patented on April 4, 1893 and manufactured in the USA is a collectors gem. Allegedly, the torch is storied to be once owned by Thomas Edison’s coworker and close confidant. Purchased by the coworker a year before Thomas Edison came out with a commercial lightbulb for the everyday use. As the light bulb quickly became a house hold item, the lighting torch lost traction and was set aside in his garage. The torch was re-discovered in its exquisite condition by his grandson who was cleaning the garage out after the house was sold in an estate auction. He held onto the blow torch until donating to a local antique shop to keep the shop afloat post-industrial revolution, as it served as a tongue-in-cheek symbol of the times. Allegedly.
