This is an attractive Decanter or Bottle Stand in neo-classical style. It is silver plated - old Sheffield Plate - with a wooden turned centre. No makers marks that imitates hallmarks. I'd date it to the first half of the nineteenth century. The woood is posibly sycamore or apple: some blonde hardwood. The red baize underneath is a later replacement.
