ANTIQUE German Empire Solid silver 800 Match Book vesta case 1909 30.6g Fantastic basket weave design on front, back and sides of this German made matchbook/vesta case. With small sapphire clasp. Hallmarked to side with Crescent and crown and stamped 800 and either WR or VR for maker (I havent managed to find any additional info on this maker). Additionally marks are GB 4 possibly import marks but again not 100%. Produced between 1888 and 1909 50mm x 55mm x 4mm approx 30.6g Engraved to top left; 27/08 09 Carl Schultze Closes nicely. Has some scratches and dents due to age. Slight bow to case maybe through use or design.
