It is made of wood, which looks like pine, but is very hard. It has 3 sections that are hinged together. The body is stained brown. It rides on red painted wooden wheels. (These are clearly cut by hand and are not perfectly round.) The hinges and axels are large flat top nails. The dog has oilcloth ears. His eyes are painted dowels inserted into the wood. His lips and nose are painted. He measures 23-1/4” from tail to nose. He is 5-1/2” high and 4-3/4” wide at the “wheelbase”.
