He had imported large shipping containers full of valuables from 2 palaces in India decades ago. I bought lumber from him which was left outside of his antique store for a long time to deteriorate. I had this species scientifically tested. It is called pyinkado. It is reminiscent of a rosewood. It is very heavy, hard and lustrous. I only sanded this piece. It is unfinished but you can see how shiny it gets. It is 11”x2 3/4”x1/2”. There is a check in one edge as seen in picture. This wood is from the incredible beam shown in the last photos.
