This is a very handsome instrument with a lot of promise. The design is good and the sound is good. It is estimated that it was constructed in Germany as many fine Strativarius replicas are. It was built in the 1940s or 50s. I was handling it a few days ago and the bridge, tailpiece and the strings became detatched. The bridge is in very good condition and can be reused. The strings leave much to be desired. I don't think this instrument has been played in a very long time. The first offer of the offering price takes this well constructed prize.
