Its color scheme is charcoal black, red, and green. Its obverse side contains a foil patch, the map of the Bahamas in the center, and a portrait of Sir Milo Boughton Butler, the first governor-general of the Bahamas. Its reverse side contains the Bahamas coat of arms and a view of Nassau Harbor in New Providence. The security features of the note include a solid security thread, a 3-mm windowed security thread with demetalized BAHAMAS, a sand dollar registration device, and a watermark of Milo Butler with electrotype 20.
