This 5 Bahamian dollar banknote was introduced by the Central Bank of the Bahamas in 2013 and signed by Central Bank Governor Wendy M. Craigg. Its obverse side contains a gold foil galleon, a map of the Bahamas, a statue of Columbus, and a portrait of Cecil Wallace-Whitfield, the founder of the Free National Movement party. Its reverse side portrays Junkanoo dancers. Security features of the note include a solid security thread, a 3-mm windowed security thread with demetalized BAHAMAS, a sand dollar registration device, and a watermark of Cecil Wallace-Whitfield with an electrotype 5 in a sand dollar and De La Rues Cornerstones.
