Baldurs Sword Baldurs Sword In the pantheon of the Nordic deity, Baldur was the son of Odin and Frigg, brother of Thor and Loki, and thus heir to the kingdom after Odin. Loved by all the gods except Loki, Baldur is known as a figure who brings joy to all those who share his company. Old Norse poetry recounts Baldurs death as a tragedy and a premonition of Ragnarök. This Viking sword is designed as a tribute to the most beautiful member of the Asgard world and in honor of the Viking god of light and peace. The leather hilt of this sword is laser engraved with three runes that define the values of the Norse god. Some scholars believe that the name Baldur translates to «bold,» so the rune of courage has been added. In his attempt to save Baldur from any harm, Frigg asked all the elements to make an oath that they would not harm Baldur (except the mistletoe who did not take the oath), so the protective rune has also been included. Finally, it was also known that Baldur was always prepared for battle, so the force rune is also included. The leaf is engraved with runes that approximate the spelling of «Baldur». The leather sheath, with belt, is covered with a layer of black suede.
