As you can see in the pictures, this print is modeled after the 1940 mailer/flyer that Pan-Am produced back in the day. I had a copy of that mailer for TIME TABLES, PASSENGER FARES & INFORMATION. All I wanted to do was make it bigger and to hang it beside my other 314 posters. Well, I enlarged the print and it was just plane [sic]awful. (Sorry I couldn’t help myself!) I tried to fill in the splotches and take out the staining it had received in its 70 years of existence, but nothing really worked. I was however, determined. So I painstakingly re-drew the entire poster during layovers. Took a couple of months of drawing and redrawing before I was happy with it.
