Check the listing for details. Canadian Half Penny token, Spread Eagle, 1814. Listed at 80.00 USD. Mysterious Canadian/English Half Penny token, Eagle, 1814, needs identification Diameter: 27 mm; Weight: 5.73g; Help of eBay members will be appreciated in identifying the coin.Opinion of eBay member:It's a Canadian colonial half penny token called a Spread Eagle, Charlton LC-54, Breton 994. Originals (LC-54A) dated 1813, were overstruck on Guppy tokens (full weight, 8.8 gr.). Later imitiations (LC-54B/C/D) were lighter (5.5 to 7 gr.), variously dated 1813/1814/1815. Brass 1813 LC54B2 is rare, but all the copper variants are common. This one appears from your pix to be LC54C1 (1814, large shield). These tokens were unpopular because the eagle is an American symbol, not beloved in Canada during the war of 1812. Clearer pix for comparison: http://www.glencoin.com/images/Slide26.jpg
