The sharpening rod is fine ceramic and is approximately 3.5 - 4" in length with a 2" Walnut handle and a stainless steel lanyard hole. The Sharpening rod is 3/8" in diameter. These are a great addition to your field sharpening kit and work great to keep a fine edge on your field knife! These are a great addition to one of my micro pocket strops for a knife and axe field maintenance kit. Please use responsibly and always sharpen away from yourself to avoid injury.
