Obverse: Sketch of Lindbergh monoplane flying over a globe representation of his route. A cherub's mouth blows a favoring wind. Under the plane are the words "PER ASPERA AD ASTRA" (By hope to the stars). Reverse: Army wings over the words "COMMEMORATING FIRST NON-STOP NEW YORK TO PARIS FLIGHT BY COL. CHARLES A.
