Check the listing for details. Conimbriga Portugal Rooster Tile. Condition: Open box. Listed at 30.00 USD. Contemporary ceramic tile from Conimbriga, Portugal. We believe the image on this tile relates to the ruins of Conimbriga, one of the greatest European discoveries or architectural significance built by the Romans. These ruins were actually first settled by Celtics during the Iron Age in history and then later occupied in the first century by the Romans. Found in the ruins were images depicting mythological displays, hunting scenes and illustrations of various kinds of animals. This high-glazed tile with it's earthy shades of brown, green and white depicts what looks like a rooster. It is one of many tiles we are listing, all with different animals. In very good condition and measures 6 1/4" square x 3/8" thick. Beveled edges; artist signed.
