To use the ant dam, simply add water or soap to the reservoir attached to the hook to create an impassable boundary the ants and other crawling insects cannot cross.These feeders hold approximately 4 cups of nectar. Hummingbird nectar consists of 1 part sugar and 4 parts water (preferable filtered or distilled). To fill these feeders, bring 4 cups of water to a boil and add 1 cup of sugar.
