A good quality Edwardian solid silver vesta case, hallmarked for Birmingham 1904, with maker’s mark C.L & S. This is a well-made example with attractive engine-turned decoration to both sides and a central circular cartouche engraved “R McCauley” adding a nice period personal touch. The case is of a nice usable size and has a good weight at 38.5 grams. The lid opens and closes well, and the hinge is in good working order. • General age-related surface wear and scratching as expected • Some wear and corrosion to the striker (see photos) • Engraved cartouche to front • A few dents but no structural damage Please see all photos for condition.
