Evadne Harris Rowan was born in Warsash, Hampshire and was working mainly between 1930's-60's. She was a freelance painter, illustrator and printmaker and studied at the Gloucester School of Arts & Crafts and at the Central School of Arts & Crafts under John Farleigh and James Tucker. Elected member of AIA in 1949 and the Society of Industrial Artists in 1952. Commissions from the BBC, General Post Office, Penguin books,Methuen, Rupert Hart Davis among other publishers. Exhibited with the Senefelder Club and lived many years in London giving her address as flat 7, 35 Elm Park Gardens, London SW 10 9QF. Known mainly today for her many dust-wrapper for various publishers Measures 15 inches by just over 10 1/2 inches
