This red felt is the best quality available.100% wool and approximately 2mm thick making it one of the thickest nameboard felts available.This felt strip is the closest size to the felt originally used by Fender. On some Rhodes these types of felt strips are also used on the backrail.The backrail is the where the back of the keys rest underneath the harp and the hammers.Having a new backrail felt can soften the key return/fall and in some cases will quiet the sound of the key falling back down.Other Rhodes use a more traditional and slightly thicker felt strip of either red or green.Either style will work fine, but we do generally recommend the slightly thicker green felt as it does help mitigate the somewhat crude action of the Rhodes key play.To determine which style of backrail felt your Rhodes came from the factory with simply unscrew the aluminum name rail and remove a few keys. *NOTE: We do not recommend the self-adhesive nameboard/namerail felt strips. They never seem to apply as well or stay properly affixed.For installation we recommend either hyde glue, pvc-e glue or E6000 craft glue.
