Description 25" Victorian Needlepoint Picture with Beadwork on Fine Silk, depicting Robin Hood & Maid Marian, set in a landscape with a castle in the distance. Circa 1850-80. Glass beadwork accents on the sword, buckle, headdress and bracelet.The deep well shadowbox frame measures 25” wide x 29” tall and is 3.5” deep/wall projection. The sight area is 15.5" x 19.5”. The Frame has the original wavy blown glass with great character- air bubble dimples & striations. Crisply cast gesso decorations. Gilded ribbon like edging with gold border. Condition notations: Frame repaint and some finish oxidation as shown. The fabric background has some discoloration as shown, mainly along the lower edge.
