This is a high quality faced chunk of this famous old California rock (Mariposite swirls in white dolomite marble) that is associated with Gold Rush days. Mariposite is named for Mariposa Co., Ca where it was found in association with gold deposits. It will make many slices/cabochons, or a great display specimen. The 2 cut faces are unpolished, the first photo is with the face wet, others dry. The size is as shown on the photos on a one inch grid. The weight is just shy of four pounds.
