The Guernsey 1 Pound Banknote from 2013 was issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Thomas de la Rues first commercial venture. Its obverse side features the olive branch flanking seal of Bailiwick, a market scene with shoppers and tented stalls in the year 1822, a quatrefoil as a registration device, and a Guernsey lily underprint pattern. The reverse side features a portrait of Thomas de la Rue, a Le Miroir Politique newspaper front page, a Guernsey lily underprint pattern, and a 1799 Fountain Street scene in St. Peter Port. The note is 128 x 65 mm in size and is equipped with a solid security thread with printed GUERNSEY to enhance its security features.
