Check the listing for details. Hand Painted Andean Peruvian Bird Gourd 5 1/2". Condition: Used. Listed at 25.00 USD. The work put into making these decorative Peruvian bird gourds is incredibly tasking. The green flesh from the harvested gourd is removed to expose the light-colored hard shell. The gourd is then cleaned and dried before the artist sketches a design on its surface with a pencil or similar utensil. The designs are then etched into the gourd's surface to make the sketch three dimensional. The art of gourd carving has been practiced in Peru for more than 4,000 years, with artisans using gourds, or mates burilados, to tell both communal and personal stories. This bird measures 5 1/2 H. The item is in great condition and would make a great addition to any collection. Please review all details and pictures and ask any questions prior to purchase
